Kate: You seem to be in a much better mood lately. What happened?
Caleb: I received a message on Facebook from a woman I went to grade school with in response to my Transgender post. Both of us came from similar environments I like to refer to as the Jesus Bubble. She said she was taught in church to believe a lot of hateful things about gay people, but that she doesn't believe that way anymore. She believes that God is love, and that love is for everyone.
Kate: That's pretty awesome.
Caleb: Religion has a long way to go in the way of tolerance and acceptance of gay people. Especially Christianity. But you can't throw the baby out with the bath water. When I run into believers who truly want nothing more than to emulate a God kind of love, it's encouraging. Most of the time, I find, when love is the cornerstone of their faith, they come to the same conclusion my grade school friend did.
Kate: What about you? What do you believe?
Caleb: I think that's enough for one post. We'll discuss my faith in another episode.
