Episode 28 - Protest

Caleb: What’s wrong, Adam?  You look upset.

Adam: I just read a news site and its headline referring to activists in Black Lives Matter as 'terrorists.' I'm beyond upset; I'm pissed! I'm disgusted to my core with our society and the political agenda that has infected mainstream media. How dare they vilify a group fighting for equality and justice!

Caleb: Whoa!  Terrorists?  Really?

Adam:  Yeah.  They blocked a highway and now they're ‘terrorists.’  You know, when people ask them to protest in another way, what they're really saying is, "Protest in a way that I can ignore."  Well, the answer is, "No."  We don't get to go on with business as usual while young black individuals are being executed in the streets.

Caleb: This fight should have been over a long time ago, but here we are. I feel like I should do something, but other than raise awareness, I don’t know what to do.

Adam: Edmund Burke once said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”  He’s right; we can’t call ourselves good men and do nothing when racism rears its ugly head.
